Problem I have encountered, if you use the provider from terraform registry, you will encounter an error with the network module, so is better to use version = "< 5.0.0" to avoid problems later. And regarding the import task and the metadata, I don't know if it was because I was using a newer provider, but you should review that because the instances were recreated, not updated, and I don't know if that was the idea behind that.
