This lab is confusing. It talks about only step 67 being able to have a message sent to slack and email, whereas previous steps (54, 62) can also produce one or both (slack & SNS) messages.

Blueprint seems to has been changed but lab was not updated. Permissions was the lab are not sufficicent

It's not very clear what the overall flow is that we're working toward in this lab. A diagram would be helpful at the start. The SNS -> email and Lambda/slack stuff makes sense. But the CloudWatch alarm should be generated based on something external -- perhaps the result of a different lambda function that checks a web site, etc. The provided lambda function throws exceptions in the CloudWatch logs: string indices must be integers: TypeError Traceback (most recent call last): File "/var/task/lambda_function.py", line 24, in lambda_handler alarm_name = message['AlarmName'] TypeError: string indices must be integers

I did not see Lambda as an alarm option in CloudWatch.
