I had some trouble getting the SNS to update my slack room from the CloudWatch alarm. The Test of the lambda worked great but the actual alarm didn't.

Does no demonstrate actually causing the alarm via Lambda execution value and seeing the notification in Slack. Was able to address this by using code below and invoking Slackfunction with an empty/invalid payload: message = json.loads(event['Records'][0]['Sns']['Message'])
