As a remote Verizon worker, I am unable to load any of the qwiklabs links unless on the VPN due to my laptop security, however, I could only connect to the SSH after logging off the VPN, which then killed my session with the test AWS account. I think I got it to work in the end, but was frustrating nonetheless. Not sure if there is a workaround, but if the Lab instructions are specific to Verizon users, it might warrant some new verbiage.

Damn stupid instructions and lab, give a test for putty connection prior to lab start. All connections from putty and bash shell timed out. No further progress can be made due to that. WASTE of money and TIME.
