The idea is great, the execution is really poor! The shell commands are in a bad style ($HOME vs ${HOME} vs ~) and have superfluous ";" on the end. The instructions miss an important step: 'wget --mirror --cut-dirs=1 -P wordpress-static -nH -np -p -k -E http://<ec2-instance-url>/wordpress/' to create (and refresh) the mirror!
