The lab seems dated and the commands didn't reflect the available options, so the eb init/eb start failed. Lab helpers didn't seem to know what the problem was. Disappointing.

I expected this to be far more advanced than it was. The only reason it took me so long, was waiting for resources to spin up. Might be a good idea to refrain from using us-east-1 (N. Virginia) in these labs.

good introduction to EB, just note that you don't login using an interactive shell, it will ruin everything as .bash_profile doesn't get pulled in. If you type "eb" and nothing happens, that's why. Source .bash_profile

Suggested corrections: When launching eb, the stack type listed is no longer available, choose a different one. The eb init output does not show the application address; it is available from the eb console page. You might warn people that it takes more than 15 minutes to launch the RDS, not just say it takes a "few" minutes.

Waiting for the instances to spin up is brutal. Otherwise, it was a decent lab.

Gave me a good idea about how I can use ElasticBeanstalk, but a lot of waiting around, instructions that aren't consistent with the current interface, and race conditions meaning eb wasn't available the first time I logged into the instance.
