Nor familiar with Geoserver so couldn't follow that part. Also needs a reference to concept of multi-tier website. I'd like to get a better understanding of this concept

the best lab ever. One suggestion: in Step 117, sudo apt-get -y install postgis postgresql-9.3-postgis-2.1. Since there is no more postgresql 9.3 in AWS, we need to update this 9.3 to 9.5 here for the current version.
