Cool. Wish there was a better way to RDP through a bastion though. That procedure is messy.

Great overall VPC review but some steps were difficult to navigate due to terminology issues between CIDR's in the lab and VPC tagging in the console

It was good to connect to a windows system from Linux and understand how I might do that via a windows bastion server.

i wasn't able to connect to the Bastion host using the public ip address. I can't see what I did wrong as the security group has RDP allowed and the public subnet that it was created in is associated with the internet gateway. Moreover i opened ICMP for all inbound traffic in its security group but I wasn't even able to ping the host from my laptop. Can someone suggest what might have gone wrong? I am using windows. Overall lab is good. I am giving 2 stars just hoping someone would review my comment. Thank you
