The startup script is not escaping correctly in BASH (extra quotes and spaces used in the script), which adds additional level of difficulty to the lab, which by topic is not related to BASH scripting (I'm using gcloud shell, not GUI). It took me a while to find a workaround - using a startup script from file. Still I don't know if it works as was supposed to (according to the verification check), as the lab progress verification fails for this step - "Please create the managed instance group... ". Why don't you make the startup script as simple as possible? Why is progress check not more detailed - e.g. suggesting if the managed instance group is missing or misconfigured or inaccessible?
